Il gruppo musicale Mattia Caroli & I Fiori del Male è in attività dal 2016 e fin dall’inizio utilizza sonorità vintage per poi sperimentare e spaziare dal blues al jazz, dal folk al rock, grazie all’utilizzo di strumenti a fiato: tromba, sax, clarinetto, fagotto. Se il 2017 è stato un momento fondamentale per la crescita artistica del gruppo, un anno fatto di 90 concerti, suddivisi in sei lunghi tour che hanno toccato anche le maggiori capitali europee, da Parigi a Berlino, da Vienna a Monaco, dove si sono esibiti davanti a cinquemila persone nella piazza principale Marienplatz; il 2018 è iniziato con un concerto sold out all’Auditorium Parco della Musica a Roma e sono seguite 50 date in 9 nazioni diverse compreso un tour organizzato da Sofar Sounds in Inghilterra Accanto alla crescita artistica sono aumentati anche i momenti di visibilità sia attraverso canali tradizionali, sia attraverso i social media. Il 4 Maggio 2017 sono apparsi anche in televisione, ospiti di “Edicola Fiore”, programma diretto da Fiorello in onda su Sky Uno HD e TV8, durante il quale hanno eseguito live il brano Ain’t She the Queen e presentato il primo album Fall from Grace.

Già nel 2016 c’erano state diverse occasioni di visibilità: il 24 Novembre è uscito in anteprima su Rolling Stone Italia l’ultimo video “Blues Man” e il 14 Novembre 2016 Concita De Gregorio li ha intervistati per FuoriRoma, il programma di Rai3 in onda ogni Lunedì alle 20,10, durante il quale hanno parlato del proprio progetto artistico e hanno suonato “Saturday Morning”.

Il gruppo è stato anche scelto da Raul Bova come band d’apertura alla partita di beneficenza per Amatrice Nazionale Cantanti-Protezione Civile, condividendo il palco con artisti come: J-Ax, Giusy Ferreri, Il Volo, Moreno MC, Elodie Di Patrizi, Sergio Sylvestre, Francesco Gabbani, Ermal Meta e Fabio Rovazzi.Ad Ottobre 2016 stati scelti dall’esperto musicale della RAI John Vignola, insieme ad altre nove band del Lazio under 35, per il libro promosso dalla Regione stessa: “Lazio Creativo- Cento storie di creatività-Edizione 2016”. Alla consegna del volume il presidente della regione Nicola Zingaretti ha sottolineato come la band avesse anche ricevuto a Parigi il premio come Best Music-Video of 2015. Infatti il 25 Settembre 2015 il gruppo era presente ai PAMA (Paris Arts and Movie Awards): Saturday Morning era infatti tra le quattro finaliste nella categoria Best Music-Video of 2015 (insieme a Spagna, U.S.A e Francia).

Il primo EP, “Every Giro Day” realizzato nel 2015, gli ha permesso di girare l’Italia in tour e può essere ascoltato sulle frequenze RAI. Il video realizzato sul singolo “Poet on the Fly” è uscito in esclusiva su Repubblica.TV, che specifica: “Band Reatina che sta rapidamente conquistando l’attenzione del pubblico rock”. Il brano è stato presentato live sulle frequenze di Radio Rock, la storica emittente della capitale, che li ha invitati anche per un’esibizione live e un’intervista.

Il loro primo album “Fall from Grace”, co-prodotto da LRS FACTORY è uscito il 21 Ottobre 2016 sotto l’etichetta tedesca Timezone Label.

Hampered by its giant wings, Baudelaire’s albatross returns to its exile on the Earth in the sounds of a group of musicians all born in Rieti between 1989 and 1993: Mattia Caroli, Valerio Brucchietti, Niccolo’ Jacopo Cavoli, Marco Turani and Lorenzo Di Toro. A group of cinema, jazz, literature united by one great passion -music and shared a spirit on enterprise. Vintage sounds with hints of 60’s psychedelia, lyrics inspired by the poètes maudits and the figurative art and a desire to be heard, despite the difficulties facing artists today are the distinguishing features of a band which in a year and a half has used the web to make its way into public eye with two self-produced videos views more then 35k views. For their debut EP Every Giro Day they chose and English expression referring to the day the unemployed collect their benefit payment in the UK, and the video for their first single Saturday Morning, with its Celtic atmospheres and surreal images of Lake Turano, made a real impact. It was on heavy rotation on RepubblicaTV and garnered thousands of views on YouTube, winning first place in the Best Music Video category at the Paris Art & Movie Awards 2015.

The songs on Every Giro Day are constantly among the setlist of Rai Isoradio, and Radio Rock, the Roman radio station which is a touchstone for lovers of rock, devotes ample space to them. They refuse to be labelled, they feel European. In October 2015 the band took part in a music contest “MEI Unplugged” as finalists of the unplugged category. During the same month Hey Hey music-clip gets published on RepubblicaTV. The making of the video took place in the Northern Region of Italy, Trentino Alto Adige, while for the song recording they travelled to Milan for a booked session in SAE studios in the summer. The band appears on a book named “Lazio Creativo” too, where the 10 best bands of 2015, from Lazio, have had the privilege of having a section dedicated to their art and work. Their first album “Fall From Grace”, was published on the 21st of October 2016, as a result of a co-production with the studios of LRS Factory and Timezone records based in Italy and Germany. Recently they played in front of 9000 people at the stadium of Rieti, for a charity match with the most famous Italian bands.

In November they had an interview/live on the national channel Rai3, for a show called Fuori Roma. Few days after their video Blues man was published by Rolling Stone Italia. Recently they played at “Edicola Fiore”, a program directed by Fiorello and Stefano Meloccaro, on air on Sky 1.
Right now they are on their 7th European tour.
